A mentor is “a wise and trusted counselor or teacher, an influential senior sponsor or supporter.”
My definition is “someone who has experience that you can learn from and who is willing to share what they have learned with you.”
I certainly don’t brand myself as someone who has all of the answers, but I do have a lot of life experience and thereby a lot of answers. A mentor isn’t someone who has done everything correctly either but merely someone who has done something that you want to do, or something similar and has lived to tell about it. I have lived, and I have done a lot in my short-ish life. I have been a mentor/friend to many over the years. I enjoy the experience because it’s like I get to live multiple lives and learn and experience more than I could with just mine! I can enjoy relationships, jobs, adventures and many other things by partnering with people who want to live a more fruitful and balanced life.
“A MENTOR IS A BRAIN TO PICK, AN EAR TO LISTEN, AND A PUSH IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION”
― J.C. CROSBY
This quote is the perfect description of a mentor. As for me; I have a brain you can pick, two ears to listen and a whole lotta push in my heart for you. Whatever your need I can champion you to achieve it.
